I am SO excited to bring you darlins this special post today- a 1920′s Vamp makeup tutorial by the gorgeous Amy, Kinki Gerlinki’s resident makeup aficionado and all round dreamboat. Perfect timing for all the festive season, Amy has used the Besame range (currently available now at Kinki Gerlinki) to create a dramatic 1920′s look on our gorgeous model Jesse.
Without further ado, I’ll hand it over to Amy!
1920′s Vamp Tutorial
1. BASE & SETTING POWDER
Create a very porcelain, doll like base using a matte finish foundation and BÉSAME’s Cashmere Powder to set.
PRODUCTS: NAPOLEON Auto pilot Primer, Advanced Mineral make-up (Look 2), Pro Palette Concealer. BÉSAME Cashmere Powder (Porcelain).
Add light definition to bring out features – contour cheekbones, and down both sides of the ridge of the nose.
PRODUCTS: NAPOLEON Ultimate Nude palette.
3. 1920’S VAMP SMOKEY EYE.
Take a very vampish approach using overt amounts of black eyeshadow and little else.
With this eye, take the shape of an oddly, off-balanced oval.
Start your brush at the inner corner of the eye, take it up to the head of the eyebrow, swoop down the eye crease, past the outer corner of the eye, into a low curve (creating the sad eye look) and back up to the eye inner corner.
Fill in the mobile lid (the area on the eyelid between the crease and the lash line) and everywhere in side the odd oval shape.
Built the black up (more is more), blend, and ensure to fill in the lash line.
PRODUCTS: NAPOLEON Prismatic Eyeshadow Quad (Swan Lake)
4. EYEBROWS & LIQUID EYELINER FOR COMPLETE SMOKEY EYE
Frame your face by penciling a strong brow, making sure to curve down the outer edge for a adapted 1920’s look.
PRODUCT: RIMMEL Professional Eyebrow Pencil (Black/Brown)
To fill in the upper lash line and ensure full black coverage (and no peeking skin), use liquid eyeliner along top lash line.
PRODUCTS: BÉSAME CAKE EYELINER – (black)
Build lashes with a few good coats of mascara!
PRODUCT: BÉSAME 1930’S mascara (black)
Give an old rosy glow to the cheeks with this fabulous old fashioned product! – use your finger to smudge the colour on the apples of your cheeks. Ensure to blend.
PRODUCT: BÉSAME Crimson Rouge.
Create that gorgeous 20’s lip – thin, dramatic and powerful.
Using the fabulous BÉSAME lipstick, you can get that dramatic angular shape at the bow of the lips. Keep them lovely and thin, by staying inside the lip line and stopping before the top lip corners.
PRODUCT: BÉSAME Lipstick (Noir Red)
Finish off the look by highlighting the best points of the face – down the bridge of the nose, and at the high point of the eye area at brow bone. I kept the highlighting short and sweet for this look as to not take away the divine doll- like matte powder look.
PRODUCT: NAPOLEON Enhancer Pencil.
10. STYLED UP AND READY
