Lady of Leisure

I recently acquired a whole bunch of new vintage lingerie – 1930′s and 20′s silk tap pants, 1940′s dead stock panties, some bustiers and a divine late 1910′s hankerchief hemmed baby pink step-in (to feature another day). Because I got a booty on me (or a booot-aye) it’s hard to find vintage lingerie that fits me in the hips AND the waist, or is in strong wearable condition. So now I have a new personal stock pile I am being a lady of leisure any chance I can get. I generally throw my kimono on for modesty but today I felt like being a bit more glam and pranced around in this beaded pink silk bolero that I never seem to wear (I don’t really do pink) but love to pieces.

I am wearing…

Baby pink lace bustier – Salvation Army

1940′s mint green panties – Clara Fox

Beaded bolero – Alannah Hill

In other news I am excited to tentatively share with you guys that I am in the process of organising with Di of Clara Fox to run her stall at the Love Vintage Winter Show in May. I’ll keep you all updated, and if all goes to plan I can’t wait for you all to see the stock she has at the moment! Drool worthy, sell-your-first-born kind of amaze.

  1. French knickers! Last year a newlywed friend frantically e-mailed me asking what French knickers are. Her new husband had expressed a preference for them, and she had no idea what he meant. I wish I’d had these pictures to show her. They’re beautiful, and that bolero is an excellent counterpoint. Lovely!

  2. Oh what glorious goodies you’ve discovered!!! Absolute treasures and even more special because they fit where they need to and are in beautiful condition. Well done on such an amazing find! I don’t do pink either, but that 1920s-30s peachy pink colour is my favourite. xo
